i haven't seen it brought up yet, so i thought i'd say something about it. i read somewhere the number 1 injury to icefishermen was HEAD INJURIES from falling on ice. with the warm spell and rain, the ice is really slick. wear your cleats. we got a little snow today, but we had some wind so it may all blow off the ice. i've had my bell rung a couple times. luckily it was cold and i was wearing a trooper hat with my hood up. a warm day with my ball hat, it cold have been worse.

Great post!!!!!!!!!!!!And if ya always push the envelope and not wear cleats and grippers when conditions warrant it.....maybe not this trip/and not the next .....but it can and will happen to you when you least expect it.......

i'm just getting back to work from a fall and landing on my back and ringing my bell. the thing is thou i broke my back-shoulder blade-- and it was a flat surface that i landed on--like ice would be. the doc told me that this type of break is very common with this type of fall.
