I am trying to break the myth for my self that the DNR actually put walleye in the lake. I have yet to see one with my own eyes. Can anyone give me some tips? Iv been fishing the north end in 12-15 ft off the oil well points. Would i be better off on the south end by the humps off the dam?

I had a friend of mine catch a couple this summer down by the dam. I have ice fished Nimisila for years and never seen one come thru the ice. The fish are there. I think I would try down by the dam.

The area in between the islands are good too.  I caught a 26 incher that went about 7 lbs there 2 years ago in summer from my boat.  The channel runs thru there, if there at that spot in summer, don't know why not in winter.  The 2 seasons have similar patterns.  But, don't hold me to that.  I only fish crappie/panfish/perch here thru the ice and have never seen an 'eye iced here either.
