Crappies were biting in 8-12 feet of water.  As were bluegills.  Catching them on various jigs and spoons tipped with waxies or maggots.  Had to change color frequently to get bites.  Had to drop the lure to the bottom and pull up thru the fish to trigger a bite, bites were very lite.  Was catching them in timber off the banks.  Nothing great size wise.  Kind of a slow day.  Was out with hardwaterjunkie and we got enough keepers for a couple of meals anyway.  The ice was 8 inches thick, top 3 were milky, bottom 5 were good and clear.

I second that. Same report as slabslayer. I stayed till 5:30 and the bite slowed up a little after you left. Pulled a few more 10s and a ton of dink gills. Think the biggest was 4 in.
