It is a dammed up portion of the Olentangy River just north of Columbus Ohio. The Dam is actually right behind Polaris Shopping area and the lake extends way back to Sunbury.

What all do you catch at Alum Creek? I've heard of it, but never fished it. Any size to the crappies and/or saugeye??
My two favorite college football teams are Ohio State and whoever is playing Michigan!!!

yes and yes. Crappies are in the countless coves located on the east side of Alum. CRV is the true expert on Alum and taught me all that I know. Saugeye are so prevalent that most people that catch them do so by happenstance. this lake is huge and It does take knowing someone like CRV to show you the ropes when you first come down. Freezes a bit later than the rest of the shallower lakes because it is so large and deep. Also safety is needed when ice fishing because of the steep drop offs you could literally be a foot from land and be in 20-40 feet of water. Because of the depths being so drastically different than indian lake be prepared to fish deep with slip bobbers and reels instead of the ole hand over hand technique I am used to from fishing Indian so often (average depth at Indian is 5 fow)
