Lindy Slick Jigs

I bought a value pack of Slick Jigs in 3/16oz & 1/4oz (12 total) and planned on trying them on saugeye/walleye  if we ever get ice. My question is do you tip these with minnows or plastics. If plastics, what kind, color, size, etc.?? If minnows, use the larger ones?? I havbe several colors, ie. red, blue, chartruese, siver, purple, lime, quite an assortment! I'm thinking Indian Lake, Buckeye, C.J. Brown, or open for suggestions as long as not to far. Just curious as to your thoughts! Thanks in advance!!

Thread it on or how?? That's a fairly long hook. Through the mouth and out the back of the head with a good sized monnow Or did I just answer my own question??   LOL...

Have you tried the Gulp minnow heads

I would tail hook it but thats just me.

I can't stand something that doesn't flop shine or swim. Those would have a quick drop and a little swim but probably be more for the finicky fish.

i've tried the gulp minnowheads with no luck on them. tried them several times at indian. iwill stick with the real thing this year.

I have tried the gulp minnow heads several time without much luck. The only thing I found they work on is a #2 swedish pimple.

I've hooked mine both ways, thru the head and tail.  Depends on the mood of the fish, sometimes I do better tail hooked, other times with a head hook.  And Dave's right, sometimes just a minnowhead is the way to go, just have to try different things and let the fish tell you what they want.

I think the jig is intended for neutral or negative fish IMO.  They don't have any wiggle that you wouldn't impart on the lure itself but in the right situation could be what they want.  I have a few as well but haven't fished them.  I think Jeff hit the nail on the head though with tail hooking them.
