For both, I always use a glo-lure. I have 3 of 4 different glow-in-the-dark colors. There's the standard glow-in-the-dark, a reddish color, a green, and some others too I can't remember off the top of my head. I'll start with one and keep switching until I find the one they want.
Also for crappie I'll add a crappi candle. It'll light up any lure. It's a small "flashlight" that attaches to your line and shines on your lure. It will illuminate any lure as well as charge glow-in-the-dark lures continually. For more info on it search "crappi candle" on this site. I did a post on it a year or so back. The post includes a link and pictures. They work amazing for low light/night fishing! The post was titled "Anyone Else Try This?"

I have heard this and want to try it this winter. After the bite dies at dark i have heard that the fisherman in Minnesota will move into a foot or to of water and catch eye's.
We always go home at dark. Maybe we just need to stay and go very shallow and figure them out.
This could be the key.
Anyone else heard this?

Never heard that, but I'm willing to see if its true. I know that will hold true for the panfish sometimes, I guess there's no reason it wouldn't work for walleye too.

Glow is the only way to go after dark. Try to store your glow jigs away from direct light when not in use this will keep them nice and bright when you are using them for fishing purposes. Also have an LED light on hand (preferably on your hat or head) to charge lures before presenting them

Banker I agree the led light is the way to go and they snap onto the brim of your ball cap. Flick the switch on or off cost is nine bucks. Get the one with the lithium batteries triple a have too much weight

I would try something with more vibration at night, although eyes do see well at night i would think the more vibration at night the better. Vibe have the glow and the vibration I would think u would need at night.
