Went to Gander to pick up some propane for my Buddy heater and some ice line, and was looking around at the ice fishing lures and picked up a couple things.  Got a couple vib-es in loud colors for walleye.
Also saw some amazing-looking micro plastics.  These will be deadly for bluegill and crappies.  Check them out.  They're made by Northland and called Impulse 1" mayfly.  I have many micro-plastics, but have never seen anything quite like these before.  I think they'll light them up on the panfish.
They have several different colors.  These also are very soft and flexible.  They're not tough and stiff like so many of the micro plastic bugs.  The only thing I'm not sure about is the durability.  But if they work, at $2.99 for 10 it's not outrageously expensive.

That's good for you, ;D but stinks for me. :-\  Mine had all the fishing stuff 20% off, but didn't include the ice gear.  I only spent $12 on lures though.  But still wish I'd gone to yours, I'd have gotten some other things too.

how big was the micro vibe at LBF. I have been looking for blade baits that are smaller then you normally find. i have several of the small cicadas but i want a vibe style bait. And you can never go wrong with gold ;D

I'd like to see that as well.  I have cicadas too, but would love a vib-e that fits on a quarter.

I've never been to the new FIN in N. Canton.  How does it compare with ice gear in comparison to Kames  & Gander?

Haven't hit Kames yet, but Gander has more lures.  Fin has more rods and a better electronics selection.

I have never seen Kames carry much for ice fishing. Maybe I just wasnt there at the right time but I have been in many times through out the season over many previous seasons. I personally will never go there again as I stopped in last season and was treated very poorly and have had a few friends tell me the same. They will never get another dime of my money. If im in canton I prefer going to the fin as they will normally have what i need. I also go up to Marks Bait and Tackle as he stocks an amazing amount of ice gear. I have never gone in there and not walked out with what I came in for. I always walk out with even more then I came in for as I always find something I have never seen before in any other store. If you need something you cant find anywhere he will find it for you and not jack up the price on it ripping you off as i have found at a few other stores through the years. Plus he is extreamly knowledgeable on ice fishing and  I end up at his shop for an hr or 2 just b.s.ing about fishing. It is well worth the drive from any part of the state.

Went to Kames last Thursday, the ice fishing stuff was almost nonexistent. I do not recall any shelters for sale and only two rods on the rack, a disappointment.

Kames' selection of ice gear has really fallen off in the last few years.  They say they have too much left over at the end of the season and either have to store it all summer or take a huge hit on it.  The last couple mild winters have really hurt most of the area bait shops' ice fishing selection.  Normally I get what I need at the Fin show and if I need anything else I order it online.  I am going to go see Mark here in the next week or 2 though, never been there for ice fishing gear.  I'll be like a kid in a candy store if it's as good as everyone says! ;D

That pic looks like a cicada to me. I stopped by the fin in canton tonight before I took the wife out to dinner to celebrate me getting laid of for the winter. They had a very small selection and it was scattered through out the entire fishing department instead of being organized like the Ashland store. I thought the Ashland store had a nice selection and was put together quite nicely, but that is a bit of a drive for me. Out of all of the Canton stores I would have to say that Gander has the best selections out of all of the stores(kames,Gander,Dicks, The Fin). I was at Gander a week ago and they a few shantys set up along with 2 rows of ice jigs and gear and a wall with a few dozen rods and combos.`If your in the Canton area and looking for flashers go to The Fin, They had a few vex's but can get Marcum's and Humminbird's. I think you also get a store gift card if you buy one to help cut down the cost of a new one

I agree, HWJ, that does like like a cicada.  I have some of those small cicadas and they look just like that.
