Hello all!!

I'm new to ice fishing and am excited to try it out.  I do a lot of fishing both from shore and my boat but have never ice fished.  I recently bought a Dave Genz 25" ML ice fishing combo which seems pretty nice for the $20 I gave for it.  I have loads of tackle.  I live in Harrison County which is near Tappan, Clendening, Leesville and Piedmont lakes.  I also have access to some smaller ponds as well.  I'm open for suggestions.  I will be going out with a couple of my buddies who have ice fished before.  Thanks in advance, seems like a great place to find info.

Ok, out of the lakes I listed which do you have the most success ice fishing?  Any species of fish will make me happy.  I especially like catching crappie, perch and saugeyes.  Also what bait, jig combinations seem to produce best for you?

I'm most familiar with Leesville for crappie.  In this area, Deer Creek is also good for crappie.

Tappan is well known for large saugeye, not so much to me personnally, but the rumor is not large numbers but heavy fish, have even heard the 8 and 9lb whispers around.

Your smaller ponds can hold some big bluegills so do not overlook those.  Try them out and see what is in there.  On first ice fish shallow and on top of structure for them.
