ice cleats

I have a pair of the HT slip on cheapy kind. Guaranteed to strain a muscle trying to stretch them over your Mickey Boots. They pop off everytime i walk on water. So my buddy picked up a pair of HT SuperStud Sandle Cleats. They velcro on and off and he never has an issue strapping them to his Mickeys or them popping off as he walks. since they are material and velcro they don't dry rot or tear/break like the rubber stretch-on cleats. Land Big Fish carries them, but are sold out of my size.

Thanks for the post, I'll be heading up there next week when this flu is gone. Those cleats are what I need. I use the rubber strap on kind same as you, and half the time I end up going cleat less because you almost get a finger amputated every time you put them on. I've fallen on my rear more than once because of it. One of these tomes I'm afraid I'm going to break something falling down. And I don't mean a bone, something more important like a new Jason Mitchell rod!!

I always have one pop off as I'm heading out. I then look like moron on an imaginary skateboard pushing with one foot and gliding on the other. And there is no way I'm going to stop and attempt to reattach the damn thing while standing on the ice. Gonna hit Cabelas on the way up to Lake Hamlin next week and grab the better pair.

I seen a guy posted he took short self tapping screws and screwed them into the bottom of his boots.? $:-\$

I have they HT sandal cleats. I really like them. I like them better then the yak traks, The yaks are rubber with coil springs. They work good for most of a season but the rubber starts to tear and break after repeated use. The HT is excatly like the stabilicers but half the cost. Its nice to have studs across your entire foot so no matter how you walk you always have good contact with the ice. The ones that I have are just a little small for my new boots so I need to get a bigger pair but they still work well.

Thats me just screw cold cutters into the bottom of your boots. Trust me that is the way to go I tried that strap on cleat stuff its too much of a headache.

I have the kind that strap in the middle of your boot with one rubber strap that hooks back on the cleat 4 prongs on the cleat they never come off. And I got 6 pairs for a buck a price after ice season. I forget I am wearing them and go into the store after fishing lol

My dad put sheet metal screws in the bottom of his boots. Works well too. Same ones we put in the quad tires 1/4 in long maybe less.

I have used the strap on four prongs.. They work. Only problem my buddy said the bothered his back because he may have had them to far foreward. I have the one's from Low'es or Home depot. Fit the whole boot. Under 20 bucks

I use the smallest 3/8" screws. Trust me it is the way to go.
