My dad and I were up last weekend and had some issues with the airboat so we did not get out far.
But was out of Thomas road and a couple guys went through just off the main trail we were headed out when they were pulling one of the quads that went in back to shore on a flat bed. The guys going out of the west are blasting over a now frozen crack that is about 50 yards wide with snowmobiles. Hammer it bring up the front and hoping for the best.
Ice is like lake Erie. Cracks and some shove ice. Talk to the locals they will give you some info. Check out Michigansportsman.com they have a Saginaw bay forum with a bunch of info.
They are getting fish if you can get into 12-22 foot of water.
