Flat by the bridge but we've hit 3 spots covering 200 yards.

Currently sitting at Long Island.  There's about 3.5 in of ice. There's about a dozen people out here now.  We've been here for about 3 hrs and haven't gotten a nibble throwing spikes and waxworms.

Thanks.  I did re-think it and decided to hold off until Sunday.  If I can't go ice fishing I'll go to the Expo.  (Or maybe take the wife to the Fishing Expo for a Valentine's Day date.)

Indian Lake / What to do????

Trying to figure out if I should go to the Fishing Expo on Saturday or take the gamble and hold out for ice fishing on Sunday. I don't think I can get a kitchen pass from momma for both days.

Indian Lake / Re: any luck with long island or north fork last night?

Fished between Long Island and Pony from 8:00am-2:30pm.  Caught about 7 blue gill on the small side but keepers, a few more dinks, a 10" crappie and a catfish. Everything was caught on a wax worm on a black jig or a green jig with a skirt between 8:00 and noon.  Nothing would hit on red or white spikes or minnows. Ice was about 6-7in in the area we were in.  Good luck.

I live an hour away and have to work during the week or you would already have seen me out there. Come Saturday you will need to make room for me.

Thanks for the info Wapak.  It was only or 2nd time ice fishing so we are still learning.  It is nice to get a little fishing done in January.  It definitely knocks off a little cabin fever.

Spent 10:30-2:30 punching almost 2 dozen holes all over Lucy's Pond with no bites.  Left and headed to the east side of the lake.  No luck there either.  We'll get them next weekend.

Indian Lake / Heading out 1/31

We're planning on heading out tomorrow before the snow flies on Sunday.  How's the ice been especially after Thursday's warm-up?

Indian Lake / Re: Ice thickness
« on: January 19, 2015, 06:28:19 PM »
We fished around the Richard Island area most of the day today.  Ice was generally 8 in thick.  We drilled at least a dozen holes in a number of places in this area and the ice thickness was pretty consistent.  Caught one nice crappie and a handful of blue gill.

Drove through the marina area at lunch today.  The docks were frozen over but the main lake was open and pretty choppy with this wind.

Indian Lake / Re: Indian condition??

Thanks for the info.  I've checked several maps and figured that area was mostly off limits anyways especially until I get a better understanding of moving on the ice.  I drove out there right after Christmas and saw there wasn't a lot of room to park on LI.

I'm thinking about heading up to Indian Lake Saturday morning for my first time ice fishing.  Unfortunately my ice fishing partner bailed on me this weekend. I'm still thinking about going but I want to make sure there are a few people are around. Does everyone head all the way out on Long Island or is there a place before the bridge to park.  I've read the blogs and it looks like Long Island is where most everyone goes and I will not go out on the ice by myself.
